I found Matthew Porter's board book ABC and enjoy his simple line drawings of animals to illustrate the alphabet. His artist style would appeal to mommies and babies since he uses similar eyes for most of the animals and each animal is given a colorful background as well. I did not know what a quokka, uakari, or a xenops was but I looked up these new animals for these particular letters of the alphabet.
Okay after looking up where does a Xenops live? It's a bird from Mexico and Central Brazil and it is known as a Plain Xenops. So it is not seen in in North American trees so hopefully this means you get to take baby for a a trip to Mexico and get to see a real live Xenops?
